Italian Anti-trust Body Fines Apple Italia
Tuesday, 27 December 2011
Recently, Apple entered into a bitter anti-trust lawsuit which was filed by an Italian anti-trust body, which claimed that Apple had failed to inform their customers over products that were purchased were already covered by the 2 years of free assistance under national law. It seems that Apple’s employees in Italy, encouraged customers to purchase additional plans under the AppleCare program.

The outcome of the anti-trust lawsuit would see that Apple Italia would be fined 900,000 Euros for failing to disclose such facts. On the other hand, the European court is pushing forward into another investigation of a possible e-book price fixing, and that would see Apple busy throughout the entire year next year. Surely, with so much legal battles going on, Apple’s legal jousting with Samsung is also unlikely to end anytime soon.

Researchers Develop Self-healing Electronics
Tuesday, 27 December 2011
Most electronics are fragile, whereby once these components are damaged, it’s quite impossible to poke a screwdriver in to fix things up. Well, with today’s technological advancements, it seems a group of researchers from University of Illinois have found the Holy Grail towards revolutionize electronics with the disclosure of self-healing electronics.

Apparently, the researchers placed self-healing polymers on top of a gold circuit. The polymer has the ability to restore conductivity in the circuit, simply by deploying liquid metal that is stored inside microcapsules, in which the liquid metal will fill cracks and restore up to 99% conductivity in just mere microseconds. Surely, such healing electronics have widespread applications, as it can be deployed in aircrafts, which makes it even sturdier than before.

We all know that the Android operating system is already gaining tremendous acceptance and usage in the market, and electronics manufacturers recognized such distinction, which prompted them to make their components compatible with the Android. In fact, VIA just recently disclosed that their latest x86-based chips will be fully compatible with the Android, which signals their eagerness in boosting their market share in the open source OS segment.

Basically, VIA’s Em-ITX board comes with a choice of 1.2GHz NANO X2 or a 1GHz Eden X2. Aptera Out Of Cash
Friday, 16 December 2011
When Aptera initially unveiled their ultra-sci-fi electric vehicle that has a tear-drop shape, the electric vehicle gained tremendous limelight. Dubbed as the three-wheeler electric chariot, the respective electric vehicle was supposed to be an ultra-efficient electric car that can travel up to 190 miles on a fully charged onboard battery.

However, recent developments suggested that Aptera might not be heading towards your local car showroom, as CEO Paul Wilbur revealed that the company has just ran out of cash and might be closing their operation soon. Despite obtaining a whopping $150 million loan from the DOE, Paul Wilbur added that Aptera has never been closer to realizing their vision, and hopes that someone else will carry Aptera’s torch. Aptera was last developing a $30,000 mid-sized sedan. Personally, I think that this is just a bad cash of mis-management – perhaps the money was spent on Paul Wilbur’s extravagant lifestyle instead? Come-on, you can do miracles with $150 million in funds, don’t you think so?

Airsoft Sniper
Friday, 16 December 2011
I got my first toy gun when I was only 3 years old, and the toy gun was a gift from my dad which he gave me as my birthday present. To tell you the truth, I was absolutely ecstatic when I got the toy gun, and I treasured the gun for almost a decade. Whenever I have some free time at hand, I would slug out my toy gun and fictionally shoot everything at sight. And judging by the fact that I’m extremely fond of toy guns, this prompted me to collect various types of toy guns, which consist of paintball guns and air guns. Based on my knowledge and experience, air gun manufacturers mostly produce air guns that closely resemble actual guns, and I can testify that it’s extremely difficult to differentiate these air guns from real guns from a distance. Basically, I have been collecting air guns for more than a decade now, and my air gun collection is huge, which consist of air guns from various manufacturers like Echo 1, Thompson, G&G, 5.11 Tactical, Crosman, Condor Tactical, KWA, Team SD, Modefy, Classic Army, and many more. On the other hand, I have various types of air guns too, such as shotguns, pistols, rifles, sub-machine guns, and many more. And just recently, I’m looking forward to complete my air gun collection, in which I’m eyeing an appropriate Airsoft Sniper gun and also a mini-gun. Basically, I’m searching for a sniper rifle that has unprecedented accuracy, which gives me the ability to snipe from a huge distance. The respective sniper rifle should come with a scope, which can help magnify my accuracy tremendously. Also, the sniper rifle must be equipped with a stand too, so that I can take my shots on the ground. I have recently narrowed down my sniper rifle selection to the UTG Gen 5 AccuShot Competition Master Spring Airsoft Sniper Rifle and Mauser Sniper Rifle Spring Operated Airsoft Gun, as I find these guns to fit my sniping portfolio. Also, it isn’t expensive to purchase these sniper rifles too, in which it would only cost me less than $200 to purchase each. I’m just extremely anxious to find out which sniper rifle performs better, so that I can make an informed decision when purchasing these air guns. And hopefully, since we’ll be celebrating Christmas soon, I hope that the online retailer can cut me a good deal, which would definitely sweeten my air gun purchase.
